Qualified instruction is offered by taxidermist Terry Ledoux who has over 30 years of experience and who holds a diploma from the International Institute of Scientific Taxidermy, USA.
You will leave behind the usual pen and paper method of learning and will instead learn by watching and by doing. You will mount your own specimens using the most up-to-date techniques of conventional taxidermy.
The curriculums consist of approximately 35% demonstration and classwork, and 65% hands-on experience in mounting specimens. There are no written assignments.
You'll learn how to mount game heads, horns, fish, birds, mammals and rugs using specimens provided by the college.
When you graduate, you will have all the skills necessary to start a career or business as a professional taxidermist.
You'll also be taught the skills and knowledge of becoming a professional hunting guide
