Introduction
Canada's College of Taxidermy offers a seven-week, 3 day, 12-course program of study leading to a Diploma in Taxidermy. Courses are designed to teach students the proper procedures to mount different types of specimens using the latest techniques in conventional taxidermy.
The program will appeal to those interested in a career as a professional taxidermist and in starting their own taxidermy businesses.
A curriculum covering a broad spectrum of skills using a high percentage of hands-on training will benefit both the beginner and the experienced amateur taxidermist.
The college runs a complete program three times a year and insures quality individual attention by limiting enrollment to 14 students at a time.
The main college is located in McCreary, Manitoba, a prime hunting and fishing area only four miles away from the Riding Mountain National Park.
Objective
The objective of Canada's College of Taxidermy is to provide students with all the skills and qualifications required for them to become successful taxidermists.
On completion of the program, students will be able to tackle all taxidermy situations.
Goal
The main goal is to teach the student the proper way to mount specimens through a series of 12 courses consisting of approximately 35% demonstration and classwork, and 65% actual taxidermy work.
